I HATE US HISTORY ESSAYS.
They are the bane of my essential being.
Yestahday was National Portfolio Day.
"How was it?", you ask.
Well, I'm going to be terribly frank.
It made me realize how suckish my portfolio is right now.
Which actually makes me more serious about making it better.
If I had gotten great reviews, I would be totally lax about my work and by next year I'd have a mediocre portfolio. They didn't give me great reviews though, which makes me intent on making my portfolio 10,000x stronger.
I'll give a run-through of what happened.
First, I went to the Virginia Commonwealth table since no one was in line there, and I wanted to go to a college I wasn't really intent on going to, just to see what they would say about my work. The lady was like, "Okay, this is good stuff, but you need to keep working on your drawings and take more pictures." Then, I went to MICA's table. The lady there said basically the same thing, but that I should also try to add more meaning to my work and relate my photography themes to my drawing/painting themes. And, basically the same for School of Visual Arts, and then for Cooper Union...well the guy said to just GET SERIOUS about photography and focus less on drawing/painting, since photography is what I'm pursueing as a career.
Can't wait.
P.S. I've changed my top college choices.
At the moment, they're:
1) MICA
2) Cooper Union (yes, I do believe I have a chance of getting in, so don't shoot me down about how impossible it is to get accepted there)
3) SVA
Anyway, I'm going to see Twilight at 3:40.
I've heard it sucked, I've heard it rocked, so I'm unsure of what to expect.
Meh, at least there's one thing I can be sure about: RPATTZ IS GOING TO RADIATE SMEXINESS OFF THE SCREEN. lololololol.
*creepy fangirl grin*
Adios for now~
