I am not a regular high-school girl. I don't drink, I don't have a great body, I don't grind, I don't find satisfaction in wearing revealing clothes, I'm not outgoing, I like writing, I like thinking, I eat sugar more often than I "should", I don't play a sport, I don't fight with my mom on a regular basis (she's actually becoming one of my best friends). But sometimes I think it might be nice to be a little bit regular.

But then again, who cares? It's not like I'll be seeing any of these people in 4-5 years. Most of them I won't ever see again after graduation, actually. Blunt truth.

Eh, it's actually not that easy to force yourself not to care what people think. And if you say you don't care what people think, you're lying. It's a human trait that we are insecure and look for others' approval. Maybe not totally so, but everyone has a little bit of that trait in them.

It's kind of like in American Beauty.
Everyone was putting on a front. Even the HOUSE the Burnhams lived in wore a front.
- Carolyn wanted to seem perfect and together, but really she was an insecure wreck.
- Jane wanted to seem rebellious and uncaring, but really she was the one saving up $3000 for breast augmentation.
- Colonel Fitz put on his raging-homophobic front to hide the fact that he himself was gay.
- Ricky Fitz put on the front to his father that he was a hardworking, honest son when really he dealt drugs, did drugs, and used fake urine samples. Oh, and videotaped people creepily.
I think maybe Lester is the only one who didn't hide his true self.

ANYWAY
I don't mean to sound whiny or emo.
Just stating my opinion.
